There are many reasons why a person may choose to have a tummy tuck.  Two of the most common reasons are to repair your stomach after the weight gain and changes from childbirth or to tighten up loose skin after significant weight loss. It is not easy to regain your pre-pregnancy body after childbearing or to maintain that flat, slender stomach as we age. Whenever the skin on the abdomen becomes stretched, it is hard to get that skin to tighten back up, and you may end up with loose, wrinkled skin around your midsection. During pregnancy, women tend to accumulate fatty tissue in the mid section including the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, hips, and even arms. After delivery as a result of the accumulation of fatty tissue, women can be left with excess skin and stretch marks.  Women also report that their breasts become saggy and small after pregnancy and/or breastfeeding. The additional mid section weight, excess skin, stretch marks, and the loss of size and volume to the breasts can be very depressing and frustrating for women.
