Would you like to fly in for surgery? Please don’t let your location stop you from having your surgery with Dr. Robert Heck . From airport to surgery to recovery to home, we will assist you every step of the way.
Step 1
You can fly-in for a personal consultation and exam for those patients who can afford to travel and/or who prefer to meet with the physician and staff before making your healthcare decisions.
OR
You can set up a consultation via phone. We ask that you email or send in photographs ahead of time of the areas that you wish to improve or correct including both front and side views as well as back views when applicable. We appreciate receiving a cover letter outlining your expectations so we can fully understand and appreciate your goals.
Your information will be kept private and reviewed by Dr. Robert Heck. Once this information has been reviewed, Dr. Heck will call you and discuss your situation personally.
In either case, Dr. Heck will assess if you are a good candidate for the procedure you desire. You will be contacted by Dr. Heck’s nurse and advised of the assessment and when applicable, all fees for the surgery and related expenses. We can also suggest hotel and/or post-operative care accommodations as well as discuss your proposed length of stay in Columbus.
Step 2
Once you have determined that you wish to proceed with the proposed surgery, the scheduling process begins. We will offer available dates, and a 15% deposit will be collected to secure your surgery date. A packet containing detailed pre- and post operative instructions will be mailed to you upon scheduling so you can read them and be fully prepared. Dr. Heck prefers you to arrive in Columbus 1 to 2 days prior to your surgery to meet him personally, review the surgery, and answering any unresolved questions or concerns. The surgery will typically take place at the Upper Arlington Surgery Center . For those traveling over 50 miles to have surgery under general anesthesia, we are pleased to provide a complimentary night at the nearby University Plaza Hotel and any additional nights for a special HotelCare rate.
Step 3
Typically fly-in for surgery patients must plan on staying in Columbus for approximately 2 to 5 days. The length of stay will vary depending on the extent of surgery and how well you are progressing after surgery. Your post-operative visits will take place during your stay in Columbus. In the event that you may feel a need for medical attention after returning home, we will refer you to a local qualified physician. Our top priority is your health recovery and a safe trip home.
